No new charges have been added to your bill. The new bill design only arranges the charges differently so that your bill is easier to read.
What is the section titled “Other Charges and Credits”?
These charges are not new; they are just being itemized and grouped together for clarity.
Will the new bill design affect my payment plan or my bank draft arrangements?
No. Your payment arrangements remain the same.
Does the new design cost more money for SMECO and me as a customer?
No. SMECO has a business partner who produces and mails the new bills at a lower cost than the old bills.
Did SMECO consult with customers before redesigning the bill?
Over the years we have listened to customers’ comments about the old bill design, and we used that input to improve the new design.
