SMECO customer-members can utilize the SMECO Direct Pay payment service. This service offers five customer service options for Co-op members. You can pay your SMECO bill over the telephone using a check, Visa, or MasterCard. You can also check your account balance, the date of your last payment, and make payment arrangements, free of charge.
All services through Direct Pay are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just call 1-866-528-7757.
Customers may pay their electric bills at any SMECO office during normal business hours. Regional offices are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Hughesville Headquarters is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. SMECO offices also have night deposit boxes.
SMECO offers a self-service station at its regional office in Leonardtown, where you can pay your bill, apply for jobs, and obtain more information about the Cooperative.
A customer who is unable to pay for electric service in accordance with SMECO’s billing practices may, under certain circumstances, negotiate an alternate payment plan. The alternate payment plan will take into account the customer’s circumstances, financial condition, and payment history. Arrangements for alternate payment plans must be made in person or over the telephone.
The plan negotiated will be noted on the customer’s account record at SMECO. If the customer fails to meet the obligations agreed upon, SMECO may initiate turn-off procedures without further notice for a past-due balance.
