Severe weather brings with it the potential for outages due to falling trees and ice on the power lines, but power outages can occur at any time.
For over 25 years, our Project Match campaign has worked with customer-members to provide a hand to neighbors who are in need of help with paying their home heating bill during the frigid winter months.

In addition to Visa and MasterCard, SMECO is now accepting Discover credit cards for payment. This is just one more simple inexpensive way to make it easier for our customer-members to do business with SMECO.
Scholarships available for high school seniors
Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative is offering $1,500 scholarships to four graduating high school seniors who live with parents or guardians who are SMECO customers. The deadline for all completed scholarship applications is March 5, 2010.
