This section can help you learn about electricity usage in your home and target ways for you to save on your energy bills.
The intent of the audit is to give you a general idea of where your electricity is going. The audit estimates are based on your heating and air conditioning equipment size, the average usage of your appliances, and your family size. The audit will assign values to the heating efficiency and distribution efficiency. You may find that the estimate is lower or higher than your actual bills. This could mean one of three things: 1) you are very efficient in the way that you use electricity; 2) there is room for improvement; or 3) you may have an equipment malfunction. The next few pages will take you through a series of questions about your home and your energy usage. At the end, you'll get an estimate of your average electricity usage, plus useful information to help you conserve energy and save money.
